Rustic Horse Paintings
Collection of original rustic western paintings on various wood surfaces by Canadian artist Alexandra Verboom Fritz. This collection is inspired by Alexandra’s love for horses and cattle combined with a love for painting on unique surfaces and natural wood grains.
Artist’s Statement
In this series I try to capture the spirit of the horse or cow through the depiction of their eyes.
I look for moments of harmony between the horse and rider that is evident by the calm of the animal’s eye and the way they carry their head. I love to see a horse holding a nice supple crest of the neck or a long and relaxed neck.
I also love the simplicity of the natural wood grains as the backdrop for these rustic horse portraits.
