Commission Details
Once you have contacted the artist and you have agreed upon the subject mater, painting surface, size, and price of the painting, Alexandra will provide you with a commission contract for your mutual protection. This contract will specify the details of the piece and the terms of the agreement. A 50% deposit is required before the artist will begin on the commissioned painting.
Contract Terms: What happens if the buyer does not like the painting when it is completed?
If the buyer is not completely satisfied with the finished piece, requests for alterations may be accepted at the artist’s discretion. The artist retains the right to refuse any suggestions or alterations to a finished piece. The buyer may then take the painting as it is, or they may choose not to take it.
If the buyer decides that they do not want the finished piece. The deposit amount may be applied to any other completed painting by the artist or they may forfeit the entire deposit amount.
Contract Terms: What happens if the artist is not able to complete the painting by the agreed due date?
If the artist is not able to complete the painting within the agreed upon timeframe the artist and buyer may agree to new terms and an updated completion date. If the buyer is not willing to update the terms of the agreement, the contract is cancelled and the artist must payback all deposits collected within 30 days of the original completion date.
